The Hansa Konsul - the new middle class car

The Hansa Konsul - the new middle class car When in 1929 Borgward became managing director of Hansa Lloyd AG he pushed the construction of a new middle-class car as the cars with huge eight cylinder engines had nearly no market. In 1930 the Hansa Matador was published and a year later the Hansa Konsul. Optionally this car could be bought with a six-cylinder continental engine or a four cylinder from Hansa Lloyd. It was the first passenger car that was constructed and built under the leadership of Borgward and on account of the modest success the production of the Hansa Konsul was already stopped in 1932.
